Since my childhood, I wanted to become a professional sportsman. I wouldn’t have dreamed that I would be working as a teacher one day. Not even when I decided to study Slovak language and religion in 2000. And, to tell you the truth, I do not regret it. I started my teaching practice in Germany where I volunteered with children who did not have an easy life. It was them who taught me to view things from various angles. After my return from Germany, I started to teach at mostly elementary schools and I kept on working as a volunteer focusing on university students.
Today, being a husband and a father of three children, and, last but not least, a teacher and deputy principal at an elementary school with 16 years of experience, I know that it possible to do ordinary things in extraordinary ways. Yes, it is not as easy as it may seem at first glance. It takes constantly seeing uniqueness in every one, getting to know people’s needs or moods. This may be the reason I became TOP 30 finalist in the Teacher of Slovakia contest.
